ABOUT ME

I am a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX) researcher, with a background in Industrial Design Engineering. I am experienced in applying both qualitative and quantitative research methods for measuring and understanding human experiences, currently focusing on immerging immersive technologies, such as social virtual reality.

Apart from my academic career, I am also a professional cake designer, who creates mind-blowing cake experiences and owns a café "Cake Researcher" in the city center of Delft.

My work in the 2-IMMERSE project is to conduct field studies at sports events (e.g., MotoGP, FA Cup) to understand the broadcasting workflow, and develop new object-based TV production platforms for multiscreen interactive TV viewing experiences.

My work in the VRTogether project is to develop Quality of Experience (QoE) metrics and evaluation methods for social VR experiences.

Feb 2020-Feb 2022

My work in the Traction project is to understand opera experiences and develop technologies to bring opera from the elite to the public, enabling opera co-creation as a path for social and cultural inclusion.

PHD THESIS

January 2019

This thesis contributes to the understanding of crowd behavior from the perspective of individual crowd members. The studies compared the data collected from crowd members' self-reports and those from proximity sensors, revealing relations between self-reported emotions and grouping behavior in crowds.
